- This role requires individuals to turn a business vision into a reality, including implementation of all aspects of the architecture: high performance design, coding, caching, security, encryption, session state management, error logging, scalability, automated testing, etc.
- Experience in web development with an object-oriented programming language is essential for this position.
- These resources should have a “testing mindset” and be able to identify test cases/scenarios and decide what should be tested manually vs tested via test automation. They will be responsible for quality of the product area they are testing and will be writing test automation (Unit, Integration) as well.
- Experience with SAAS web applications and with Ruby on Rails (required), experience with other languages is a plus
- 1-6 years’ experience building applications at scale with Rails/Ruby on Rails (required) and other object oriented languages (Python, Django, etc.)
- Plenty of experience with MySQL, Redis, RSpec, Git, Linux, etc.
- Knowledge of UI frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, React, etc.)
- Experience designing and building systems, features, and applications
- Ability to quickly jump in and solve problems and resolve defects with high quality
- Must be familiar with CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting test failures outside of a development environment.
- Must be familiar with different levels of testing such as API, Unit, Integration and GUI testing, and choose the appropriate approach for automation.
- Must be familiar with software development using an Agile process (Scrum, KanBan)
- Must be able to effectively communicate with the dev team during various agile process ceremonies (daily standup, story refinement/backlog grooming, sprint planning and sprint retrospectives, etc)
- These resources are expected to be an active participate in agile story refinement/grooming meetings, and able to identify initial manual test cases based on story refinement.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc
